Learn More About Measles

Posted on: 06/13/2011

Seventeen documented cases of measles have occurred in the Boston area since the beginning of the year; twelve of these occurred in the month of May alone.  The Massachusetts State Department of Public Health recommneds all international travelers have two measles/mumps/rubella (MMR) vaccines at least 28 days apart, or have proof of measles immunity, prior to departure.  If you or other family members have not been vaccinated fully, the pediatricians and nurse practitioners of PHCA recommend you have a discussion with your health care provider.  To learn more about the signs and symptoms of measles, visit www.cdc.gov/measles or download our measles fact sheet here.
